How I use voice input
(updated July 9th)Workflow
I use voice input dozens of times per day on my laptop.
Wispr Flow is the best option for most people.
Be sure to enable “privacy mode”. If you absolutely require that dictations are processed locally (rather than in the cloud) your least-bad option is FluidVoice.
On mobile, I use the voice input on ChatGPT and Claude apps more often than typing. I like to walk while I talk.
For longer walking dictations (e.g. a week review), I use the Google Pixel Recorder app, because I trust it to never lose the audio (in the past, I found that the ChatGPT and Claude apps would sometimes bug on long recordings, or lose everything if I accidentally touched the wrong button).
