I use voice input dozens of times per day on my laptop.

[Wispr Flow](https://wisprflow.ai/) is [the best option for most people](https://x.com/peterhartree/status/1938531204195668154).

Be sure to enable "privacy mode". If you absolutely require that dictations are processed locally (rather than in the cloud) your least-bad option is [FluidVoice](https://wow.pjh.is/journal/fluidvoice-dictation).

On mobile, I use the voice input on ChatGPT and Claude apps more often than typing. I like to walk while I talk.

For longer walking dictations (e.g. [a week review](https://wow.pjh.is/journal/week-plans-and-reviews)), I use the Google Pixel [Recorder](https://recorder.google.com/) app, because I trust it to never lose the audio (in the past, I found that the ChatGPT and Claude apps would sometimes bug on long recordings, or lose everything if I accidentally touched the wrong button).
