# Collect context in Google Docs

LLMs are far more useful when you give them sufficient context.

To do this, I use a handful of Google Docs. For example:

* I keep weekly, monthly and quarterly plans in one big doc.
* Every major project I work on has a "project sheet". This doc is a hub for project management, and it's also a great resource for LLMs. On the margin I put more information into the project sheets (using tabs) instead of creating separate docs.
* I have a "[meeting doc](https://notes.pjh.is/useful/The+meeting+doc+and+person+log)" for everyone I work with.
* I maintain an ["about me"](https://wow.pjh.is/journal/about-me-doc) doc.

Storing context in Google Docs makes it easier to use multiple LLMs, and to share context docs with collaborators.

In Claude, you can attach a Google Doc to a project (and Claude can see changes you make to the doc after you attached it). You can also paste a Google Doc URL directly into the conversation box.

In ChatGPT, you can't attach a Google Doc to a project. You have to add them to each chat thread.

If you use [BetterChat](https://hartreeworks.com/betterchat/), you can add docs to a Claude or ChatGPT chat by pressing `Ctrl+G`.
