# Codex with GPT-5.5 is >2x faster than Claude Code and similarly capable

Claude Code with Opus 4.6 has slowed down a bunch over the past 1-2 weeks. It's even worse with Opus 4.7. I still use it, but I've switched to Codex as my daily driver.
